It has been suggested that the eagle will eventually learn to avoid the airplane, as the crow has learned to keep its distance from man in accordance with the increasing range of the rifle. Can the bird acquire the simple knack of diving into deep and narrow canyons as the distant whir of aiplane propellors becomes audible? I shall discuss this in another chapter.
