private view - a collection of self portraits
I want the portrait to say a little about some of the ideas that interest me, as well as it being a representation of my outward physical appearance. Once I had summed up myself as a head of curly hair with glasses and a pair of earrings, I then used some of the simplified objects that I use in other works to make a trio of shields/masks that could represent the ambiguous notion that one uses one's outward appearance to either protect one's inner self, or to hide that inner self behind.
