Images of the self
I wanted to acknowledge the importance that a sense of place has in my life; the influence certain surroundings have on an individual.
The rows of numbers were taken from my diary and represents the length of time spent on Orkney in 1993.
Extracts from correspondence form the middle layer. This also includes part of an image made in 1992 and faxed to the Australian base in Antarctica. It emphasises a sense of isolation.
Photographs taken in my studios make the partitions of the lower stratum. Looking outwards and inwards; a sense of duality.
