Since the early 1970s Alan Johnston has been at the forefront of Scottish contemporary art. Broadly abstract in nature his wall drawings, paintings and sculpture pursue an interest in modular and repetitive forms. His work is often created with a specific space in mind, typically using a minimal approach to any intervention.
