Come and join us for an audio-visual jam at the gallery.

Saturday 7th June and Saturday 14th June 10.30 – 16.30

Four experienced improvisatory musicians – John Phillips, Pauline Black, Colin Black and Gemma McGregor will deliver two day-long improvisatory performances in the gallery installation. All musicians have an agreed approach to meet on the day and respond in the moment with no shared preparation or rehearsal beforehand. The form of each performance will emerge on the day in response to the audio-visual installation and the activity in the gallery space.

As an interactive installation the work is improvisatory and open, shifting with the visitor’s input – a form of audio-visual jamming. The musical performance days will offer the visitor the opportunity to jam in the moment with the AV material and professional musicians. Visual artist Emma Ainsley will join the jam, improvising with the audio-visual material on both days.
